The plants are sun-dried and roasted to produce ash, giving the soap its iconic dark brown colour and potent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial qualities.
Oily/Acne Prone Skin
The sulfur in the ash very effectively dissolves acne-causing oils by cleansing the surface of the skin and deep within the pores. It improves skin tone and texture by exfoliating dead skin and reducing hyperpigmentation and dark spots caused by acne.
Eczema & Psoriasis
The rich organic oils and butter in the soap slow down transepidermal water loss caused by bathing and dry weather so the water stays trapped in the surface of the skin, locking in moisture. This, combined with its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, makes African black soap great for soothing irritation caused by eczema or psoriasis.
