ToggleWhy you should layer your body care
Like hair and face care, layering skincare products helps them penetrate the skin better, making them more effective. Most people tend to rush their body care and focus on their face, so I created a simple and effective way to get the glow without the fuss in 3 simple steps. Cleanse, exfoliate and moisturise. Very simple and easy to follow, based on natural products it is gentle but highly effective in reducing skin texture, softening the skin and adding a glow to match your face.
Step 1: Cleanse
Cleansing is the first step in any effective body care routine and is important for removing dirt, oil, sweat and other impurities from the body. It also helps prevent acne and leaves skin feeling fresh and clean. We prefer using natural soaps, be they bar or liquid. Depending on your skin needs, you can choose to use naturally scented aromatherapy soap, as they offer skin and sensory benefits.
Step 2: Exfoliate
Daily gentle exfoliation is important for obtainign and maintaining healthy, glowing skin because it…
Removes dead skin cells – Exfoliation breaks down the bonds that hold dead skin cells together, allowing new cells to surface. This can help your skin look brighter and more radiant.
Unclogs pores – Exfoliating can help remove dirt and debris from your pores, which can reduce the appearance of pores and minimize breakouts.
Improves skin texture – Exfoliating can help smooth out rough, patchy skin and even out your skin tone reducing hyperpigmentation and fading scars.
How to use the African Sapo
- Wet the Sapo with warm water
- Add soap, bar or liquid and build a lather
- Gently scrub your body in circles from your neck to your feet.
- Rinse off the soap from your body and the Sapo
- Hang your sapo to dry on a hook or over the tas or shower (somewhere it can drip dry)
Step 3: Moisturise
Moisturising is important because it helps to improve the feel, health and appearance of your skin. By locking in moisture, your skin is softer, more supple and less prone to breakouts and bouts of dryness.
How to apply moisturiser for the best glow.
- Scoop a little gloop of Bare Butter with your forefinger.
- Gently rub the butter between my fingertips to warm it up. This helps the product spread more easily and allows for better absorption into your skin.
- Start from your neck and work your way down to your feet.
- Apply the moisturiser towards your heart in circular motions. This helps to stimulate circulation and prevent dragging the skin downward, which can contribute to sagging over time. Pay attention to areas that tend to be drier, such as your elbows, knees and feet, bikini like, behind the knees and heels.
- I give the butter a few minutes to fully absorb into my skin before wearing clothes to stop grease transfer and to luxuriate in the product.
- Enjoy the glow and compliments.
That is all from me this week hope you learned something that changes your skin and life for the better, in the meantime…be good to yourself.
